Terry Lifts

British lift maker with over 70 years in the industry, making home lifts, step lifts and wheelchair stairlifts.

Terry Group Ltd designs and manufactures in Cheshire and states more than 70 years in the lift industry. Its domestic range covers through-floor home lifts (the Affinity, Lifestyle and Harmony models), Melody platform lifts, TSL step lifts for getting over a few steps at a doorway or into a garden, and the S7 SR wheelchair stairlift. Step lifts and platform lifts are often overlooked — if the problem is the front step rather than the staircase, they can be a far cheaper answer than a full home lift. The company lists LEIA, CHAS, Constructionline, UKAS and SafeContractor accreditations.

Before you commit

  • Get a written quotation and never agree to a price on the doorstep or over the phone.
  • Take your time. A genuine company will not pressure you with a "today only" discount.
  • Ask a family member or friend to sit in on the visit if you can.
  • Check whether you qualify for VAT relief, a council grant, or free equipment first.
  • You normally have 14 days to cancel an order agreed at home or online, though bespoke fitted items can be an exception — get the cancellation terms in writing.
